Generating a LUT with Photoshop
- Earlier, we took a brief look at lookup tables. I want to show you how robust Photoshop is, so you can take an image and generate lookup tables. This allows you to easily fix problems within a clip, or come up with entirely new options very easily. In this case, we've got a few lookup tables ready to be built. The cool trick is that several adjustment layers can create a look. LUTs or lookup tables are very popular for both photo and video, they allow you to encapsulate a particular style very easily. Now for this to work, you need to have a background layer. It doesn't need a color chart like this, but this can be helpful. Use your adjustments to add any of the adjustments here. Any of these will work just fine. Let's pull that in a little bit and I'll add a curve. Now what I can do with that curve is easily tweak things.
