- Once you've made sure your eyeline, framing and lighting are good, and if settled on a pleasing background, you may want to take things a step further. The webcam is obviously the star of the show in this whole setup. So let's focus on making your camera the best it can be. Your goal is to make sure the image is clear, properly balanced and shows correct contrast, hue and saturation. So, to maximize clarity, you should first make sure the camera is clean of dust and debris. You can use a lens cloth and canned air to clean the lens. If you're using your computer's built in webcam, you may have some limited options for dialing in on your camera settings. On some versions of windows, you can adjust your brightness, contrast, hue and saturation through the webcam hardware settings contained within control panel.
