- Hey everybody. In lesson two, we're going to talk about how to get started as a freelancer. As I mentioned before, it's going to really help if you have a demo reel or some business samples that you can show prospective clients. So I always like to use the network around me, especially when I was starting out, so I reached out to a lot of friends and family to see if I could do any videos for them. Now granted, you might have friends and family who mostly want a music video again, or some sort of sketch or narrative. I mean, those are still good to do, but every once in a while you're going to get someone who has their own local business and that you can really do that, and be expected to do some pro bono work at the beginning. Now don't do everything for free, 'cause obviously then you're not getting paid to do it, but if a project does come along that you think will really help your profile and your reel, definitely…
