Holding cards until after the shoot

- What's more expensive? Having to buy another memory card, or having to pay the crew, or go through the efforts to reshoot? Well, I think the answer's pretty obvious. But you'd be surprised how many people are cheap when it comes to memory cards. I get it, video production is expensive. But please, advocate or purchase additional memory cards. What you're going to want to do is make sure that you have enough cards to get you through the shoot. Or perhaps, multiple days of shooting. The last thing you want to do is wipe a memory card before you are absolutely certain it has three copies backed up. Now, we've talked about three two one backup, we've talked about using a clearly labeled system. The last component really is that final bin, ready to wipe. Ready to wipe does not mean wiped. It simply means that the cards are sitting here for as long as possible, until absolutely positively they have to be used. What we're looking at here, is that this is simply the outbox. When ready…
