How do I deal with negative feedback?
- One of the things I get asked probably more frequently than anything else is, how do you deal with negative feedback? I want to take the time to address the fact that there's a difference between negative feedback in the form of legitimate criticisms or constructive criticisms versus people who are just being negative for the sake of being negative, aka trolling. With that being said, there's a way to address both these situations. Now negative feedback may or may not be a legitimate constructive criticism. Regardless, you should try to deal with it in a professional and detached way and stay on topic. Don't ever let it become personal. And I understand that as a business person probably doing this for a living, you might be taking it personally because this is your baby or you put so much effort or work in.
