How do you build an audience when nobody knows who you are?
- One of my favorite questions is how do you build an audience when nobody knows who you are? And how long does it take to build that initial audience? And there's a reason that I love this question. I think it's taken for granted that everyone starts at zero and that the first 10 or 20 times anybody does anything, you're usually not that good at it. I remember as a kid, playing sports or playing instruments, you know the first dozen or so times I remember being still objectively horrible. I don't think I'd ever want to perform in front of people, the first couple of months of doing anything, but there's an expectation with video that if you're working hard and you're putting this stuff out there, that you should have an audience to watch it because why else are you making this? Why else are you working so hard? And I think that that's you being unfair to yourself to be honest. I think that you have to give yourself time to develop and grow, and mature into your content, into your own…
