- Finding the right location is just as important as casting in your video production or photo shoot. You could have the perfect cast, but if you don't have the right setting to do it you can't tell your story. I'm Rachel Longman and I'm a producer in the Washington D.C. area. Location scouting is a big part of a producer's job when planning a production. In this course we'll walk through how to begin creating your goals for your location, how to identify any production obstacles, the process of securing your location, and the techniques to effectively scout a location.
