But first, you might be wondering, what is B roll? Well, to understand B roll, you first have to understand A roll. A roll is typically the main talking head or interview style footage you shoot for your video. This is the footage where you are talking to camera and driving the video forward with your dialogue. B roll is usually the variety of shots that go on top of your A roll to help support it.
