Identify where your audience is

(upbeat music) - Are you struggling to connect with viewers on social networks? To optimize your live stream, it's important to know who your customers are and which social networks they spend their time on. In this segment, you'll discover how to identify where your audience is. To identify your ideal customer, first, create a customer avatar. Take this one step further and create a fictional persona for your customer. It's also super important to understand the viewers barriers like asking how important the replay factor is for them. To gain a better understanding of your viewership, ask them what they're currently struggling with. To hook them in, let them know that you'll be answering the questions in an upcoming live stream. Also ask them where and how they're more likely to engage with your brand. To collect your answers, use free tools like SurveyMonkey or Google Forms. If you're just starting out and don't have a large audience to survey, you can always research online behavior. The Pew Research Center has an excellent breakdown of where your audience spends their time online. It's not difficult to find studies and infographics that provide information on specific platforms or other countries. Once you get the results from your survey and review the demographics of the available research, put that knowledge to work across different social media and digital marketing platforms. It's important to note that you can upload your email database to almost all social media platforms and find customers there. Now that you know how to find your audience, let's show you some ways to keep them engaged. (upbeat music)
