- When I'm putting together a project plan for crew, I take a very typical project manager approach. I like to do a work breakdown structure, which is essentially a tree diagram of what's in a project. It's kind of like a mind map or an organizational tree, and what you think about is the actual ingredients that you need to put the project together. As such, it's going to really help you quickly understand what are the key roles. Obviously, you need somebody who's going to record the video and the audio, and depending upon your budget, there might be one person doing both roles or multiple videographers and a dedicated sound person. It's all going to depend upon the project and your organization, but it still doesn't alleviate the step of planning for what's needed.
