- Now that you have your IT partners in the fold, work with them on identifying how you or your vendor will plug into stream. I always recommend a hardwired connection, as it tends to be the fastest and most reliable outbound pipeline. Even if you need to run 100 feet of Ethernet cable, it's worth the effort and gaffer's tape. If Ethernet is not an option at your location, as I mentioned earlier in the course, you can stream over a wireless network. Again, DaCast recommends at least five to eight consistent megabytes per second for a 720p upload. 1080p requires more, and for my peace of mind, I demand at least 25 to 30 megabytes per second. Keep in mind that wireless tends to be slower than hardwired so it should never be your first choice. If you're looking to stream from a remote location where there's no internet connectivity, there are several but very pricey solutions.
