Keeping the talent comfortable

- One of the things they don't necessarily teach you in school is that the person who you're interviewing is not always in the most comfortable position. They've got lights all around them. They've got people talking to them in kind of a dimmed place. They've got people all around staring in a monitor that's their face. It's not exactly the most comfortable place to be. So keeping them as comfortable as possible is key to them giving a great interview. Now, you as the videographer, one of the ways that you can ensure that that happens is that you need to put yourself in the position of the person who's sitting in the hot seat. Now, the reason why they call it the hot seat is 'cause traditionally film lights were hot. So that means that if you were having all these lights coming at you, you're sweating, it's a hot seat.
