Learn the process of creating professional video

- I'm Rob Garrott, a content manager here at LinkedIn Learning. If you want to become a videographer or filmmaker and capture compelling images or craft your story in an editing suite, this course will help you start your creative journey. First, we'll start with a look at some of the many genres of video; documentary, corporate, commercial, narrative. Each if very different, yet they require many of the same steps to produce good consistent results. Next, we'll look at the three broad steps in creating video. Pre-production, where you plan for your project and write your story. Production where you capture video images with cameras, lighting, and sound. And post-production, where you take those moving images and craft them into a compelling story using video editing software at a computer. The most important part of the production workflow is pre-production. We'll explore the process of planning, writing, and developing your project to set you up for creative success. Then, we'll look at lighting and shooting techniques that will help make your images look their best and communicate the story to your audience. Because simply shooting great looking video doesn't make a story, we'll examine the process of assembling and crafting your story with solid editing techniques. Once your story is locked, we'll talk a bit about the workflow for finishing your project where you'll use color correcting to add style and depth to your images. As well as cleaning up the audio and adding sound design to finish your project off. This course is a general overview, but throughout we'll provide suggestions of other courses you can watch here on our library that go into much greater detail. So let's get started learning all about video production and editing.
