- Once you've dialed in your image quality, you may think you're most of the way there. But there's definitely more to consider, especially with regard to your audio. Sound matters more than you probably think. Most people can watch a video with good audio and less than stellar visuals and still appreciate and understand it. But if you've got a video with great visuals and quiet, echoey audio, people will quickly disengage. Let's talk about setting up your webcam audio for success. First, no matter what microphone you use, do everything you can to optimize your recording space. Minimize other sounds in the environment. Turn off any machines or fans from other equipment in the room. If you have a really high stakes webcam call, make sure to reduce noise from outside of the room too by politely asking others to be as quiet as possible. You can even choose to further soundproof your space by hanging blankets or acoustic foam.…
