- One great thing about free and social media live streaming platforms like YouTube and Facebook Live is that they have pretty robust analytics capabilities. For this section let's focus on YouTube. As you know, YouTube is part of the Google portfolio, and its analytics backbone supports the popular video service. Much like the Google Analytics product, you can capture a wide breadth of information about both your live and on-demand content, everything from watch time statistics, audience demographics, traffic sources, viewer geographic information, down to the type of device they were using. It's all captured. There's almost an endless amount of data categories to review. I can always piece together a pretty solid picture for my clients with these numbers.
