Light your shot for impact

- One of the most important factors in your video quality is good lighting. Low lit or poorly lit webcam video often results in an image that is washed out, has bad coloring or contrast, a lot of digital noise and grain, or worse. At the very least, make sure that you have a dedicated light source placed in front of you clearly illuminating your face. The light should ideally be soft and diffused. Also, there's something that should probably go without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Your light source can't be your computer monitor. When you illuminate yourself using the light from your computer screen, your skin tones will look awful and so will the rest of the video frame. As terrible as this looks, I'm sure you'll agree that you see this all too often. So if possible, position yourself in front of a window that lets in a lot of natural daylight, or place a lamp or other light source behind your computer monitor…
