- The major provisions of the 14 CFR Part 107 refer to aircraft requirements, the responsibilities of the certified remote pilot in command and its crew, reporting an accident and limitations which is what you can and cannot do. This does not apply if the aircraft is flown strictly for hobby or recreational use. It does, however, apply to any activity in which you will benefit in some way. A promotion, a training, the sale of a property or anything like that. You must register the aircraft if it's greater than .55 pounds and operate it under the provisions of 14 CFR Part 107. When you register your aircraft, you will get a unique registration number. You must display this number on your aircraft. This number on your aircraft must be legible and durable. It must also be accessible and visible. You can put it inside a compartment but only if that compartment can be accessible without using any tools. An airworthiness certification is not necessary and finally it cannot endanger the National Air Space. Prior to flight, the remote pilot in command must conduct a preflight inspection which includes checking the environment and the weather. Inform the crew members about the operation and their roles, including potential hazard. Make available to the FAA upon request any and all documents and records pertaining to this flight. You must report an accident within 10 days if the small unmanned aircraft operation results in serious injury or property damage. The operation limitations are UAS must be less than 55 pounds.
