Making adjustments on the lens

- As you're working to get the shot, it's very common to have to make adjustments directly on the lens. Now the lens may have a lot of options. If it's a digital cinema lens like this one here, well, there's physical rings and dials for just about everything. On the other hand, if it's a more DSLR style lens, like this one here, not so much. Everything is controlled from the menus. So it really just comes down to what you're used to. Do you have a lens with manual controls for things like aperture and the ability to make other adjustments or is everything being done from the menu system? Even a DSLR style lens though will usually have a ring to adjust focus and may have a ring to adjust zoom. So this really comes down to the aperture ring. All right, let's work with this digital cinema lens here for a moment and take a look at our shot. In this case, we have a pretty exposed shot and I want to dial things down a bit.
