- When you're a freelancer, you have to manage your own career transitions, and try to position yourself for your next jobs. One of the things you have to think about is ways to reach new markets. A great tool is LinkedIn, and I'm not just saying that because you're watching this on LinkedIn Network. I'm saying that because I think it's an incredible tool with a really robust search engine. Now, a lot of people don't really understand how to use it. One of the things you can do is you can search for companies that you're interested in working for, and it will pull up all the people and connections that you already have who are one, two, or three steps away from that person. And so, one of the things that I think a lot of people forget is they're a lot closer than they realize to people they might wanna contact for their next job.
