Maximizing a location on a budget
- So, a lot of times you're working on a really cool project, but it doesn't have the biggest budget, and that's okay, because sometimes you walk in and they have a massive location. As a perfect example, I shot in a sports facility where they had a bunch of batting cages, basketball courts, football fields and whatnot, and a lot of times what you need to do to maximize your location on a budget is to look. Look at things that you are able to utilize, you're allowed to utilize, look at things that will be helpful to you in your interview. So at this particular shoot, looking around I was able to see that they had this netting where the batting cages were. And so we were going for this really dramatic-looking shot and so we lit it with one light, one panel light, and then we literally put these Lume Cubes strung into this netting behind camera, like flashing right into the lens, and that gave us a really dramatic look on a low budget utilizing the best parts of the location that we…
