- When you're shooting 35 hours of footage over the course of a week, you've got to have a good media management plan. So, I want to talk a bit about what we did during the Project Reload shoot to ensure our media was safe, and so that we got everything handed off for the edits in an efficient and organized way. As I mentioned earlier in this chapter, we recorded most of our interviews, single cam with the C300, which contains dual CF card slots. Now each card can capture 64 gigabytes of media, and we were shooting HD foottage at 1920 by 1080. That means we were able to record about 164 minutes, or almost three hours, on each card. Having such great storage capabilities was really helpful, but when you have that much storage available, it feels a bit like putting most of your eggs in one basket. So the team was absolutely religious about dumping the footage to drives at the end of every shoot day. In addition to the C300s, of course, we usually also had the footage from the Canon 5D…
