Merging a 360˚ image with PTGui

- Shooting a 360 image using a DSLR or mirrorless camera requires post-process stitching using a desktop computer. The software I use and recommend is a program called PTGui. It's a software dedicated for 360 and regular panoramic photography. It's a fast, automatic, and relatively inexpensive tool. Let me show you how it works. The first thing I want to do before we jump into PTGui is that depending on your workflow, if you have HDR images you want to merge those together and make sure that they're all merged into one image for each photo. In this case I've already merged them together. For each node I did seven images, panning around for 360 and then one up in the ceiling. This gives me good coverage for a full 360 photo. Since I did seven images for every node, I want to make sure that the folder is a divisible number of seven, so if I come here and hit the space bar to preview it, it says I have 84 images, and if I do the math, if I do 84 divided by seven, it should equal to 12…
