Moving the camera

- So, let's talk about actually moving the camera and how to do that. Now, in our previous course on directing, we examined camera moves and their emotional impact. But in this tutorial, we're going to focus a little bit more on the technical aspects of things. For more examples and details about the emotional and story-based ramifications of moving the camera, go back and check out course number five in this series, the directing course. So, how can we move the camera? The way that we move the camera in The Assurance, most of the time, is with a slider. So, we're going to have a dedicated movie about that in the next tutorial. But there are tons of other ways to move the camera. A dolly is the conventional method that's been used for decades. This involves laying down a flat surface, usually plywood, and then setting down a track, and then putting a wheeled cart called a dolly on that track.
