- You've got to take comedy seriously if you want to be seriously funny. To leverage the power of humor in your business video writing, I suggest a three-pronged attack. First, storytelling. You've got to nail down what you want to say before you decide how to say it. Try watching content that matches the length of your project. If it's going to be several minutes long, visit the websites of large corporations and watch their informational, some might say marketing or propaganda, videos. The best commercial storytellers in the world make these things and they're good exemplars of narrative and structure. If your project will be 60 seconds or shorter, watch the best TV commercials. Augment and analyze your research with a couple of courses right here. I recommend Storytelling for Advertising Campaigns by Stefan Mumaw and Storytelling for Business Video by Roger Schulman.
