Operation limitations
- The FAA has very specific rules that must be followed in order to fly your drone in the national airspace. In this section, we will go through the operating limitations, operations near airports, airport signage, runway numbering, aeronautical sectional charts, latitude and longitude, airspace classification, and temporary flight restrictions. It also has provisions for scanning the operating environment for any obstacle. Before a small unmanned aircraft operation, the remote pilot in command must assess the operating environment. The assessment must include, but is not limited to, weather conditions, airspace and flight restrictions, the location of people and property, and other ground hazards. Your weather and visibility minimums are visibility, three statute miles. You have to be 500 feet below a cloud and 2,000 feet horizontally from a cloud.
