- Whenever you are operating your UAV, you must always yield the right of way to all manned aircraft as they have the right of way. Usually there's not too much risk of collision because manned aircraft fly much higher than we fly our small UAVs. However, at some point these airplanes and helicopters need to land. And of course they do so at airports and heliports. Remember that manned aircraft always have the right of way even when on the ground of the airport. This is why when flying your small unmanned aircraft near an airport, you are responsible like everywhere else for avoiding any kind of collision risk. The remote pilot in command must always know the location and flight path of aircraft, be aware of other aircraft, persons and property, avoid a collision, prevent other aircraft from having to take evasive action.
