- Now let's talk about translations. In this global world it is really important to make your content accessible to as many people as possible. I have one client who routinely asks me to do translations into six specific languages for most of their videos, because they know their customers tend to come from these regions of the world. The key to producing for translations is to be sure you shoot longer shots than you normally would. So that means I give a little pre-roll before I actually call action. So the camera's rolling. I don't call action yet. So I have a little bumper there, a little buffer. And then I wait a little longer before I call cut. So I basically have pad at the front and back. This is because every language in the world is longer than my native language, which is English, some by as much as 25, even 50%.
