Overview of the Actions panel

- If you'd like to save time, Photoshop has a series of built in actions. Actions allow you to play back several steps on an image to get things done. Let me show you how to load them, as well as how to load an updated set. In Photoshop, make a new document. And from film and video, just choose a preset like HDTV. Now go to the windows menu and choose actions. Un-dock this, so it's free floating and easier to see. In here, you'll see several different actions and likely just the default set is loaded. If you click on the dropdown menu here, you'll see video actions. These are actions that I co-authored with Dan Brown at Adobe and they're designed to solve some of the problems that you might need with a video based workflow. Now over time, these actions have changed a little bit and there's a few things about them that I'd like to tweak, but the ones that are built in are good, but not the most updated set. As you see…
