- Okay, so we've talked about shots. And how individual shots and the choices you make in them can further your story along. So now let's talk about how those shots work together. And essentially what that is, what we call that is coverage. As in, how are you going to cover the action of your scene? So there's two important elements to coverage. Two things that you're concerned about. One is, story continuity and the other is what you want your audience to feel from the interplay of various shots. So again there's a lot to cover we'll take it in two parts. Let's start by talking about story continuity. What we mean by that is, that despite the fact that, you're going to be shooting stuff all out of order and there are shots of all different types, you obviously always want your audience to be able to follow along.
