- Okay, so we understand how coverage and how you choose to cover a scene is going to affect the scene making sense and story continuity. But, it also affects how your audience is going to feel and what kinds of emotions you're looking to bring out. Remember, like we said, we can use things like camera angle, and lighting, and all this stuff to affect how the audience is feeling and what we are trying to convey to them. It's important when you're thinking about your coverage, to be thinking about those things as well. What types of shots go with this scene and with these beats and match what you're trying to say. To give you an example, here are two scenes from my short film "Ocean City". The first one we're going to look at is that scene between the main character Wallace and his boss, Mr. Lorenzo. It's a scene where there is a lot of distance between these two guys emotionally. They've just been at a convention…
