- [Instructor] Although After Effects is nearly as old as Photoshop, it has been inspired by Photoshop since its inception. In this lesson, we'll look at some of the most basic features that you use all the time that will be familiar from Photoshop. To do so, we'll even start by working with an actual Photoshop file. To do that, I'll go to the file menu and choose import file. I'll select my PSD. And I see a dialogue in which the most important consideration is whether I'm importing it as a composition or as a flat file, a.k.a footage. I'll go for the composition. So now it appears in my project panel along with a folder of all the layers contained in it. So those are effectively linked files. I'll double-click the comp icon to open it. And you can see that we're a bit cropped in here. Now, there are a few different ways I can zoom out. I can, of course, select the zoom tool and use the option key to zoom out. I…
