Positioning the station

- When you arrive on location, whether you're in the field or in a studio, you're going to need to choose a place for your data management station. I've gone ahead and cleared out the station we were working with earlier. I'm going to walk you through the process of setting it up, what equipment you need, and what you need to think about. One of those first considerations is going to be: Where do you set up? The answer is going to vary, of course, but it's important that you give some thought to this. If you're too far away from the action, people aren't going to interact with you. You're going to get cards at the end of the day. No one wants to take an elevator three floors up to find you in some office tucked away in the corner. You're going to need to be close to the action on set. But if you're too close, that could be problematic too. Many shooting sets are kind of small and so it's very important that there's enough real estate for everyone else.
