- Remember in an earlier movie when I said, "Never assume anything." Well the same holds true for post-production. Never assume something will take a certain amount of time, because you could be wrong not just by a few hours but by days or weeks. That can have a serious impact on your schedule and your budget. Post-production takes much more time than production. So bring the editor or post-supervisor into the project in the planning phase. They can help you plan out the post-production schedule based on the overall project scope. Guessing on post-production, and then bringing the editor and post-team in when you're ready to edit can cause delays and budget overruns if you didn't plan correctly.
