Powering the station

- In the world of video production, if you don't have power, you don't have much. You need power to actually be able to manage data and you can't rely upon batteries. So what do you do? Well, first up, chances are you want to put that data management station somewhere near power outlets, preferably enough power, but you might not have as many outlets as you need. This is going to make it a lot easier to bring your own power strip. Something just simple like this. Ideally, it'll have a surge protector and multiple outlets allowing you to plug in multiple devices. Chances are you might bring many of these. Now, I don't care what brand you buy or anything else. Just make sure it's rated and even includes possibly an insurance policy, many of them do, to cover damage to the equipment. I don't ever really plan on cashing in that insurance policy, but I figure if they're offering $10,000 of equipment coverage, I probably have a very good power strip.
