- When working with non-actors, I've found that it's important to prepare them in three different areas, content delivery, personal appearance, and the shooting environment. In terms of content delivery, I remind people that they are the experts, right? We're not here to trip them up, we're here to make them look good on camera. What we want to do is also make them look and sound their best. One of the things that I like to do is send them some themes to think about before the interview, and a lot of times people want to know your exact questions, which I would caution you against sending all your questions. I prefer to send themes and ask them to think of specific examples. It's always helpful for people to have a little time to think of those examples. What I don't send is literally every single question I'm going to ask. First of all, because a lot of those questions I might need to develop on the fly based on what their answers are, and other times, there just might be things that…
