- Sound is one of the most important tools you have as a storyteller. The visuals don't make much sense without sync sound or without the sounds of the environment around the characters, without some music or voiceover or sound effects. We touched earlier on some of the obstacles that affect a listener's experience of the audio part of your story. Headphones have wide-ranging quality. Same goes for earbuds and often they're worse. And many people will watch something while sharing one earbud with a friend. Have you ever seen that? So, that effectively makes it a mono audio experience. Even in rooms with large beautiful speakers, it's really hard to know what kind of quality you're gonna find unless you've used that exact space and those speakers before. So, what's your solution?
