(children playing) (car horn honking while moving at a high speed) - Recording sound and location can be a real challenge, especially when working as a one person crew, when you are doing so many things and wearing so many hats at the same time, my rule of thumb is to only record the sound on location that cannot be replicated later on. Here's an example, (flamenco music while feet stomping and hand clapping) (hitting metal) In these cases, the sound was very particular, was very specific to that situation, so it had to be recorded on location. And here's a different example. (bees buzzing) (lively music) On this assignment documenting a beekeeper, I decided early on to record only reference sound on location and use sound effects in post.
