Researching your subject before a video interview
(techno music) - Hey there, I'm Robbie Carman and this week we're going to talk about how to prepare yourself, the producer, director, for an interview. I'm joined this week by special guest, director and producer Amy DeLouise. Amy, thanks as always for joining us. - Absolutely - Amy has a lot experience in running interviews. Amy, one of the things I think a lot of people don't think about, is how to prepare yourself as the person asking the questions or running the set for an interview. We spend a lot of time thinking about gear and lighting, and even how to get the subject ready, but prepping yourself is equally important, right? - [Amy] Absolutely. What I try to do is as much research as I can. I realize that some shoots come up very quickly, so obviously I take advantage of Google and the internet. - [Rob] Sure. - [Amy] I watch any videos of the person that have already been done, whether they're interview videos or speaking to a group of people.
