- [Instructor] Let's start by defining some terms. Remote Pilot in Command. This person holds a current Remote Pilot in Command certificate and is the final authority in all aspects of the flight. Must ensure that the flight does not pose any hazards to people, animals, or property. It is designated before every flight but can change during the flight. It is the responsibility of the Remote Pilot in Command to comply with all regulations. There are also supporting Crew roles that usually involve people who are not Part 107 certified. These crew members can be Visual Observers and even be the ones manipulating the controls. The Remote Pilot in Command can use a Buddy Box, which involves two control stations and the Remote Pilot in Command can take over the flight controls if necessary.
