Rotoscoping

- [Instructor] We're now ready to start rotoscoping, where we animate the shapes and the resulting masks over time. When you draw a shape, you get the first keyframe for free. For example, with the head shape, you'll see a red tic Mark at frame zero, and that's the first keyframe I got when I drew that shape on that frame. If I want to rotoscope, I need to add additional keyframes throughout the timeline. If I go to a different frame and update the shape, the keyframes are automatically added. Let's skip through the motion, and see what it looks like, and we'll start by animating the head shape. The actress turns her head and the camera gets closer, so the motion is fairly simple. Because of that, we can use the bisecting technique, and that's where you add a new keyframe in between existing keyframes, and it's great for simple motion.
