- Let's talk about how to plan your shots for small screen delivery. As we discussed in our segment on streaming, the small screen viewer will best engage with your content if you don't overload them with fast or unstable camera motion. Now don't get me wrong, I love using camera movement. But if my delivery is primarily for a small screen, I'm gonna go with that gentle, slow dolly or slider motion, not some sweeping jib shot. You might also consider, let's say you have a two camera setup. Lock down one camera, only put the motion on one. So lock down your primary, head-on camera, motion on your side, or vice versa. This way you're always gonna have a solid, go-to shot that's not moving and that won't be disruptive for the small screen viewer. Now I also like to do shallow depth of field for small screens.
