Selection criteria for EF lenses

- When you go to choose an EF mount lens, it really comes down to two key styles. Are you going to go with a more DSLR style, something like this lens here that tends to support zooms and nice easy features like in-lens image stabilization or the ability to do a quick tap of the autofocus button, which can really come in handy, as well as auto-iris controls, full electronic communication between camera body and lens, or are you going to go with a more classic digital cinema-style lens that has gears and markings on the side to make it easier to work with that style? Ultimately, it's up to you. Now, the DSLR-style lenses are often cheaper, but not a guarantee. There are many affordable prime lenses out there. It really just comes down to what you're looking for. Remember, this is a pretty easy switch. Now, this lens is about the maximum weight that I would put on the front of the camera.
