- While attaching the microphone is the first step to winning the war, you have to set your levels. If the audio is too low, it won't be usable and if the audio is recorded at too high of a level, it'll be over modulated and distorted and not really able to get fixed. So, it's important that you get audio at the right level and your camera makes this pretty simple with dials and touchscreen controls and the ability to see the audio levels. So, you notice right here on this particular camera that while I'm operating, down below I can actually see the audio as it's coming in. Well, this is pretty useful and all I need to do is if I tap that right there on the screen, you see that we actually get the controls here for the audio levels. So, by using the touchscreen controls, I can actually move these input sliders here and start to record the audio at a higher level.
