Should you shoot VFX outdoors or indoors?
- [Instructor] Once you become a visual effects artist that works on other people's stuff, it doesn't take long before you start feeling frustrations at the way things were shot. The way things are shot on-set can make a huge difference in both the quality of the final effects, as well as how long and tedious the process is for the visual effects artist. So, this chapter is going to look at some good practices for shooting visual effects that you might want to pass on to your productions, if it's at all possible. First we're going to look at whether or not you should shoot visual effects outdoors, or indoors. I actually had green screen studio in my home, I used it to shoot some effects shots for my film Godlizza, and I loved the way those turned out. So, why did I shoot these scenes for The Assurance outdoors?
