- When webcasting through a subscription based platform like Livestream or an enterprise CDN like Akamai, on-demand delivery becomes a little more involved than with the free platforms. For one, you'll need to pay for the long-term hosting of your content and in some cases you may need to re-upload it the CDN. Keep in mind, you should always record your stream if you need to do this. In situations when security is key and limiting access to the content is required, this commitment may be non-negotiable. However, in my experience, if the content is sensitive, cost may not be an issue. If a webcast is being streamed within an organization's intranet, there's strong possibility an enterprise video CDN is already in place to host the on-demand content. One example I can provide is a corporate client that used Akamai to go live and then had a Brightcove account for internal videos.
