Three keys to producing successful crews
- I think there are three keys to success when producing crews. In fact, I can break it down into the three Ps: purpose, people, and places. Under purpose I like to be sure everyone on my team knows the goals of the production, both the internal team and the external crew members. Everyone should also understand the shooting formats, what our final deliverables are in terms of file formats that are needed, and on which platforms our video will be distributed. Now under people I like to be sure there's great communication, both among our crew members and among the team they're working for and any folks who will be filmed, plus any people who need to be informed about the production. That might include building security and maintenance personnel. Places covers all our locations. That includes our permits that our crew will need, any insurances coverage that are needed, and the logistics of how our team is going to move from one location to the next.
