Time tracking
- When it comes to managing others, one of the most important things you need is data. Time tracking is critically important because it drives so many things. The impact of time both affects budget because people don't want to work for free, and of course your overall schedule. So the only way to really control time is to track it. This is critical, particularly if you're working on a time and materials type relationship. Most staff are going to need to work and while you might be able to get a few extra hours out of an employee if you're working with outsiders, every hour that's worked is going to be billed. It's also important that you take a look at this, because it will affect your jobs. Most projects these days are fixed price.
