Tips for ensuring crew works well with you and your internal team
- To maximize your efficiency and be sure you get the very best footage you can for your project, I have a few tips I'd like to share with you to help the crew work with your internal team. Now, you'd be surprised how often crews tell me that the kind of information I provide to them they rarely get from other producers. They'll be better prepared, knowing the purpose and goals of your project. So let them know, for example, yes, you want to film the entire speech for the record but the part we really care about is this part, and give them that piece of it on a piece of paper so they can refer to it. That way, they know they can plan for audience cutaways during the other segments, but to roll continuous audio. So a lot of these things that you provide in advance really help the audio person as well as the camera person. And you know, it's not just the crew who needs to understand the project. Be sure your internal team also understands why the filming is taking place. Let them know…
