- Previously, we talked about how to specifically prepare interviewees for their interview. Here are a few other tips to help them be more comfortable on your next video shoot. If you're conducting an internal casting call, be sure you let people know that they might not be cast. Sometimes I do a giveaway that everybody gets for coming to try out like fun sunglasses with your company logo on them. When casting, you can provide sample lines in advance so you don't have to expect people to make them up on site. Especially if it's like a training film and they're going to actually have to deliver some specific lines. Make it fun. Bring in some director's chairs. Show people who you cast from similar videos so they know what the final product might look like, and be sure you don't over prepare people for going on camera because that just makes them more nervous. Now sometimes we actually do these preparations over the phone, right, because you can't always bring people in to audition them…
