Updating your camera

- In order to check the camera if it needs an update, you can go ahead and plug it directly into your computer. Now, you can find the software version in your camera's menus, but the easiest thing to do is just directly attach the camera. Power the camera down, then take a USB cable and attach it. The exact type may vary depending upon the model. Now, power on the camera. It'll take a second, but once it launches, you should have the camera detected by the Blackmagic software. In this case, this camera is up to date. I'll power the camera off. Let's take that same cable and check the URSA here. It also has a USB port located directly above the card slot. And let's make sure the camera is powered on. The URSA camera is also up to date. These are both newer cameras and we recently updated them as well. Now, let's take one of our older studio cameras.
